Just as many people recognize that .uk is the country
code top-level domain (ccTLD) for the United Kingdom
and that .jp is the code for Japan, many people also
believe that the code for the United States is .com.
In this chapter, Erica Schlesinger
Wass introduces .us—the ccTLD for the United States.
As the oldest ccTLD, .us has evolved
to more consistently reflect the diversity of American
identities and priorities.
