We walked down to Ghirardelli Square after Lombard Street. It was a Sunday and the walk, littered with arts shops, galleries, and vendors, reminded me of St. Kilda in Melbourne.

Across the street from the square is the bay, with a beach, views of various piers, ships and of the Golden Gate Bridge (which remained mysterious behind the fog throughout the trip.)

Boudin Bakery . They're known for their sourdough, and have set up a streetside baking demonstration and gallery of the some of their sourdough creations, like this crab.]]>

We didn't buy tickets early enough to go to Alcatraz (it's popular!) but we could see it from the Wharf.
