from their national codes. In fact, low Internet development
and internationalist visions create little use of many
Muslim nation country code top-level domains (ccTLDs).
For many years, sociology and anthropology
professor Toby E. Huff has studied the intersection
of technology and culture. Here he presents new research
that shows that Malaysian university students prefer
the international identities afforded to them by generic
domain names to national identities that are gained
by using Malaysia’s ccTLD, .my.
