Malaysia's .MY:
Globalization and Domain Identification Among Malaysian Students
By Toby E. Huff

It is not only Indians who shy away from their national codes. In fact, low Internet development and internationalist visions create little use of many Muslim nation country code top-level domains (ccTLDs).

For many years, sociology and anthropology professor Toby E. Huff has studied the intersection of technology and culture. Here he presents new research that shows that Malaysian university students prefer the international identities afforded to them by generic domain names to national identities that are gained by using Malaysia’s ccTLD, .my.
